Salwan Public School, Ghaziabad, commemorated India’s 79th Independence Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. The celebrations began on 13th August with a special assembly on the school ground. The programme commenced with a warm welcome, followed by a heartfelt prayer by the school choir. The Heads of the institution hoisted the National Flag, and the gathering proudly sang the National Anthem, fostering a sense of unity and pride.

Students of Class X delivered an inspiring talk on Gandhian philosophy, emphasizing peace and conflict resolution. The cultural segment showcased vibrant dance performances by primary and senior students, soul-stirring patriotic songs, and poignant poetry recitations by students and the Headmistress. A thought-provoking nukkad natak titled “Har Ghar Tiranga” vividly portrayed the sacrifices of freedom fighters and rekindled the spirit of patriotism among all present. The youngest Salwanians—nursery and UKG—presented a lively Janmashtami-themed dance, adding colour and cheer to the occasion. The Principal addressed the gathering, motivating students to uphold the values of freedom and responsibility.

In the run-up to Independence Day, the school also organised a Cycle Rally, promoting the message of health, environmental consciousness, and patriotism. Students and teachers cycled through nearby localities, spreading the spirit of Har Ghar Tiranga and encouraging active citizenship among the community.
