As part of the Heritage Week celebrations, the students of Class VII of Salwan Public School, Trans Delhi Signature City, visited Humayun’s Tomb on 15th April 2025. The visit aimed to deepen their understanding of India’s rich architectural and cultural legacy. Guided by their teachers and a heritage expert, the students explored the magnificent Mughal monument, admiring its intricate Persian-influenced design, sprawling gardens, and historical significance as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They learned about the tomb’s construction commissioned by Humayun’s widow, Empress Bega Begum, and how it inspired later Mughal architecture, including the Taj Mahal. Students keenly observed the craftsmanship in the red sandstone and marble work, noting its blend of symmetry and grandeur. The trip not only enriched their knowledge but also instilled a sense of pride and responsibility towards preserving India’s heritage. It was an enlightening and memorable experience for all participants.
